The Amazing Race: All-Stars April 1st, 2007 Part 1

In the begging part of this episode, Charla and Mirna team up with Dustin and Candice for a sausage eating intersection. Dustin, Candace, and Mirna are able to finish eating their 2 foot long sausage links with relative ease, but Charla is a whole nother story. Shes only half way done and is shoving pieces down her pie-hole when she starts complaining that she doesn't feel well and just wants to throw up and can't. But then, she has a brilliant idea to shove a butter knife down throat and make herself gag! Genius! The first few attempts fail, and after dry heaving a few times she manages to upchuck a few times, and let out some burps too. Whats really great about the scene is looking at the reactions of the other people around the room. Dustin and Candace are appropriately cracking up, and fellow whinnier Danielle (who's also eating pig guts) starts gaging herself as she tries to eat. Great stuff.

An Introduction to Charla and Mirna

So, if you haven't realized that when I say that I love Charla and Mirna from the Amazing Race I mean it sarcastically, then I guess you have never seen the Amazing Race season 5 or the Amazing Race: All-Stars season 7. Obviously the two of them are maybe the most close-minded, dim-witted, biggest whiners of all time. But, I will admit that they provide constant laughter every Sunday evening from 8:00 to 9:00. The pair are cousins, with one small, I mean small, disadvantage; Charla is a little person. You might think that because Charla has a disability the team is easy going and "just along for the great experience" but, I'm sorry to say you are wrong. The duo is uber competitive, and I often question whether Charla was born small or if Mirna simply used some hi-tech machinery to shrink Charla for the race so that they could get in line first at the airport because of her "handicap". Needless to say, I'm always cheering for them to be eliminated from the race, but deep down wanting them to stay.
